Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

This policy explains what information platemise.com collects when you read this site, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only. The Platemise app, when it launches at app.platemise.com, will have its own privacy terms.

Who is responsible

This site is published by Platemise. For any question about this policy or your data, email contact@platemise.com.

What we collect

Analytics (Google Analytics through Site Kit)

We use Google Analytics 4, installed through Google’s Site Kit plugin for WordPress, to understand which pages are read and how visitors find them. Google Analytics records information such as the pages you view, the page that referred you, your approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address), your device type, browser and operating system, and how long you stay. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. We do not use this data to identify you, and we have not enabled Google advertising features.

We have set Google Analytics to keep user-level and event-level data for 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically. Aggregated reports, which do not identify anyone, may be kept longer.

Google processes this data under its own terms. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Page-view counts

Our site software also counts page views on our own server so we can see which guides are read. These counts are stored as totals per page and are not used to build a profile of you.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested and browser) for security and to keep the site running. These logs are kept for a short period set by the host.

Email

If you email us, we keep your message and address for as long as we need to answer you and keep a record of the conversation.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file your browser stores for a website. This site uses:

  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>), which tell visits apart. They expire after up to two years unless you delete them sooner.
  • WordPress cookies, set only for people who log in to manage the site, or if you leave a comment.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also stop Google Analytics from collecting data about you with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works without these cookies.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We do not run ads on this site.
  • This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its use. Email contact@platemise.com and we will respond. Because analytics data is not linked to your name, we may need details such as the dates of your visits to find it.

Links to other sites

Our guides link to official sources and other websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
